    Beware of Tavernhawks in Ames

Softball tourney today so watch out as they have invaded in full force. Bettendorf, Muscatine and Iowa City have been confirmed in attendance. Be careful and safe while partaking in Father's Day activities. You have been warned.

Re: Beware of Tavernhawks in Ames

I am imagining this post to be read aloud by the Cyclone Alert voice from the football games

ďI told you, I donít care if youíre black or white. I donít care if youíre rich or poor. I donít care where you come from, whether itís Texas, Florida, California, or right here in the state of Iowa, I donít care about any of thatÖ But what I did care about is moving forward from that day on, that we were one team." -Paul Rhoads

Will there be alcohol served? Has the threat level been upgraded to orange?

I'm from Muscatine and it's got a lot of Cyclones for being so deep in hawk territory including 3 who have recently played football for ISU.

ISU license plates, just $50 at: http://www.iamvd.com/ovs/plates/index.htm

Yeah I'm interning in Muscatine for the summer and I am extremely surprised of the amount of cardinal and gold I see at work and around town.

Re: Beware of Tavernhawks in Ames

    1. I guess I see nothing wrong with older men playing softball. It's cheaper and more active than golf. I have nothing against golf, but for those men looking to be a bit more active, it's a great alternative.
    2. I'm pretty sure this isn't a male softball tournament. I had a lot of younger ladies come into where I work in softball uniforms, probably U12 or U14

The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will come Ray. People will most definitely come.

It is U12 girls my cousin is playing but lots of Hawk chairs and after seeing the Born and Bred shirt I felt the warning was required.

Can't stand losers that don't play the right way.

What do you consider close? Under 15 runs? Most of our recent loses have been by quite a bit. Haven't really been keeping track. I would probably take a close lose at this point, but it is nice to get to the parking lot a little sooner and have a little more time to drink.

I play for the activity, hanging out with the guys, and drinking in the parking lot. Rome nailed that part.
