Re: WBB lands Arizona post player

Jensen averaged 13.8 points and 7.7 rebounds during her junior campaign for Mountain View HS, leading the team to a 19-2 record. Appears she had a lot of interest from West Coast Conference schools and is a great student as well with a 4.2 cumulative GPA thus far in high schools.

According to Arizona Rivals, they describe her "a talented post prospect that plays the 5-position for the Toros, but will see her time at the 4-position in college, since she is agile, skilled and possesses very good low post footwork. She is capable of scoring either with her back to the basket with a variety of moves, or while facing the basket out to 15 feet. She is also capable of putting the basketball on the floor and creating scoring opportunities for herself and going strong to the basket."

I've seen references to her being a better player than some taller posts due to being a harder worker and having a better motor. That's the sort of thing we heard about Pop coming in too. :)

I agree Red...sounds exactly like Pop but more developed skill-wise.

Jensen's team is ranked #70, not her individually.

Re: WBB lands Arizona post player

ESPN just added an eval from today or yesterday:

EBA Super 64 West-June 2012: Solid athletic frame and has good strength and balance. Fundamentally sound player who can make pivots right and left. Showed some decent ballhandling for a post in the drill work too. All the physical tools to play at the BCS level in the right system. Would like to see her finish more consistently and not rush to finish. (Hansen)

She will definitely be competing for the starting center job in 2013-14 with Baier. Probably the likely starter even if Trapp comes on board, too.

Re: WBB lands Arizona post player

From what I read, Jensen might be more of a 4. Hard to tell right now. If she proves to be an excellent under-the-basket player she could start at 5 since HC will likely start at 4 that season.

Just idle speculation on what someone (whom I know little about) will be doing 15 months from now on a team that will likely have at least two players who have not yet committed to ISU. :)

Re: WBB lands Arizona post player

Jordan sounds like she would be a good compliment to Maddy and Trapp (if she signs) in the post. We are going to need some muscle inside after next season. Good recruit, way to go Cyclone staff.

Re: WBB lands Arizona post player

I was just trying to say that it's hard to project that far in the future when we'll likely fill at least two of the remaining open scholarships for 2013. I don't have any special insight as to who those will be. :)
