Who's season do we want to spoil / Big XII north implications the rest of the way...

I was just looking and the standings and schedules, and thinking, well we could beat Kansas and then cause a showdown on Thanksgiving weekend between Kansas and Mizzou...

Or maybe Okie state will do that before we do.

I dont know who I want to win the north more Kansas or Missouri?

Maybe Kansas just cause they remind me of ISU a bit.

But hey gotta give credit to Kansas, they are doing what we failed to do, take advantage of a weak schedule and semi-weak competition in the North...

    Any thoughts?

I'd love to give our next three opponents "horrible" losses.

I would be very afraid of being eaten by Mangino. Let Pinkel be the loser.

    Semi-weak North?? Huh?

The North has 2 teams in the Top 10, another two (KSU/Nebraska) that were in the Top 25, and 1 (CU) that beat OU and dominated Texas Tech this weekend. 4 of the 6 teams in the North will be bowling.

    Doesn't sounds semi-weak to me.

Normally I'd agree, but coaching and our mistakes killed ourselves. Does anyone remember our overtime play calling before the missed FG? First play was an option call when everyone and their grandmother knew Stevie was coming off a high ankle sprain and couldn't run laterally. Second play call was Meyer rolling out to his LEFT and trying to throw on the run. The third play was just a pass play that didn't work. Of course we then all remember the missed field goal.

Because of that, that's why I'm not too bitter against KU for that. I am a lot more bitter over that 1 point loss in Lawrence in MBB because of the stupid ref mistakes.

Semi weak is the wrong wording, but I would say the teams are very equal in the north (anyone can beat anyone on a given sat) Also we are beating up on each other to a certain extent week in and week out...

Sure I remember. I'm still p*ssed off about that whole game. We can't screw Mizzou anymore, and neither CU nor KSU can catch up to them without KU losing at least 3 games, so I'll take Kansas.

If you want an ancillary reasoning, how about this one? I want a North team to win the Big XII. KU hasn't proven to me that they can beat anybody. Sure, they got tested at CU and aTm, but they haven't had to play OU, Texas, or OSU (yet). Mizzou was hanging with Oklahoma in Norman, I think they're our best shot for an win in San Antonio. We'll find out how good KU is when they head down to Stillwater the week before we come to town.

Yeah, if KU can win out and win in the big 12 championship, and the right teams lose in the country, they may sneak into the title game.

Re: Who's season do we want to spoil / Big XII north implications the rest of the way

It would be fun to spoil the Jayhawk season.

However, it would also be fun to see them run the table into the Big 12 title game and face what most expect to be Oklahoma.

Kansas went into A&M, a very tough place to play and really dominated that game. Held Lane to virtually no yards, didn't give up a score until midway through the 4th quarter and committed zero turnovers.

What else can you ask this team to do? I keep hearing (and not just here) that "well, they'll be tested when they play Oklahoma State".

A&M beat Oklahoma State...the same Oklahoma State that got spanked by Troy.

As far as us, I don't care who we beat. Would be awesome if somehow we won out. If we can only get one win, I'd rather it be a home game, so the fans can actually enjoy it. That leaves this weekend or next.

I would love to spoil Kansas season. They are just getting to greedy with being both a football and basketball school, they have to share the wealth... don't they.

If you play strong defense, you can stay in a game. Just ask Auburn and Alabama and Iowa. The good thing about our defense is we have many different people making tackles this year in our spread out alignment. No longer does Ace have to make 15 tackles a game chasing people down from behind.
