this team sounds like a cupcake by div. 2 standards, wish this was our first game instead of our third.

Any chance we actually cover a 29 point spread?

Our boys will probably beat these guys by one of the largest margins we've seen in a long time.

We need to make a statement in this game. No close finish like with Kansas last year.

And I hope this won't be a letdown game after beating Tulsa and pounding EIU!

I attended WIU for a year. Pretty sure the rugby games drew more than the football squad. They had to be more fun!

Toured there on a college visit. I think it is safe to say WIU is the 'ghetto' of Illinois colleges. Not that attractive of a place to attend.

Also, both parents are WIU grads. Hope we kick the snot out of them.

Re: Premature Preview: Western Illinois Leathernecks

this will be tougher then a 4 TD win. WIU has absolutely nothing to lose. UNI did this to us during the Chizik era, heck UNI almost beat us last year.

I know UNI is a way better team then WIU will be, but facing a team with nothing to lose is a very dangerous thing. I think we win comfortably, but there will be stretches where fans won't be pleased at how things are going.

Good thing is that their strength on offense is the running game. I'd be more concerned if they were pass oriented. Their defense sounds shaky at best, if we don't score at least 20 on them it will be a long year for the offensive group.

Re: Premature Preview: Western Illinois Leathernecks

I bet this is one of our very vanilla offensive games, which ends up keeping us to a lower score than fans expect.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.
Make this one for the ages!

I'd call it a season if we didn't score at least 30 on them. Under 40 is still unacceptable.

    No

ISU has a history of struggling against these horrible teams. We'll win something like 28-17

We should demolish them by 50 if we show up with an attitutde

This. Some of you guys are determined to turn these guys into a Frankenstein. This program has grown. Honestly, this game should look like what Bill Snyder used to put on weenie teams back in his glory days. This was a bad FCS team last year, with no drastic shot at being better.

Plus, IIRC, we have a bye week after. No reason not to let it all hang out, even if that means the 3rd-string QB leading a couple of second half touchdown drives.

hope we rack up the stats in this game. klein and knott could easily have at least a dozen tackles each since they will be running it alot
