Good luck with that one, Joe...

He did well with an underappreciated, unrecognized group from Florida. If he didn't have the stomach to stay with that group, how's he going to handle the personalities that go with overpaid, over-the-hill, overrated group of veterans who think it's more about the money than it is about the game?

Chuck Lidell: I paint my toenails with pink and black polish. Problem is, I get more paint on my toes and on the carpet than on my nails. Any advice?
Maria Sharapova: Don't you beat up other guys for a living? I don't know how to answer this.

I think Girardi will be able to handle it, he spent a good portion of his career with the Yanks, winning championships in 1996, 1998, and 1999. So he isn't unfamiliar with the high expectations that come with being a part of the Yankees organization and the episode in Florida seems to me as being more of the owner's inability to let Joe just manage the team.

Just shows how big of an insult the offer to Torre was if Girardi is actually getting a three year 6 million dollar deal too.

Well it looks as if Torre and Mattingly might land on their feet after all...

This is all over the Dodger message boards. It appears to be legit, but I'd rather wait to see a more credible source than the Lower Hudson Online to 100% believe it.
