    Camping at Ledges

    Im looking to do some camping this weekend and since its last minute type thing, I am probably just going to be heading to Ledges. We will just be tent camping and most of the sites say they are first come fist serve, but also have a check in time? Has anyone camped there before and know if we can just show up anytime tomorrow or do I have to wait until 4 to set up shop?

    Favorite place to hike and camp. If you can get a hike in spot, try it. very quiet, except for during the races.

    I hate camping at parks. Its much better to camp on a sandbar of a meandered river. No one to bother you, and the DNR won't tell you to be quiet after 10pm. Ussually good fishing too

    By the way, usually most people are gone by 10 or 11 in the morning. get there by noon and you'll have a good choice of spots. it starts to fill up late afternoon.

    Unless it's changed, the hike-in spots have a board in the parking lot. You fill out a card and put it in the slot for the spot number you want, I think. If I remember correctly, there's a payment box where you drop your payment.

    I could be remembering totally incorrectly, however. I believe you can set up whenever you want, provided nobody is using it.
