My school system - Stevens Point, WI- has gone around and around trying to find applicants for what I feel is a great job. I know Iowa State produces grads in this field. If you, a friend, or a relative qualify and may be interested in living in a great little college Community consider this opening or pass the info along:

Re: Food Service Manager Needed 80-120K

To clarify, does the 260 days refer to work week days, or does this person have much of the summer off like many other school related jobs? I assume it's week days (5 days x 52 Weeks = 260)

I'd take it for $60,000 with no experience included.

I can't believe such a worthless job would pay so much.

Evidently the market disagrees. Of course the public sector often overpays for talent which they may be doing to a degree here.

Unless you work in this field you have no idea if this pay really reflects the market or not.

Without reading any of the info, I am qualified and will take the job as long as I can work from home.

It looks like the job is the top position in charge of feeding children in a school district. If you think that's a worthless job, you just might be a worthless person.

I'd have to guess that your former statement is the most likely, and could be why Wisconsin is reevaluating their public sector.

That would be a very challenging and demanding job. And an important one. Making sure thousands of kids are fed properly every day, meeting all requirements and doing it on budget. BIG job.

Agree. If I knew how to manage the hustle and bustle of that kind of position I would apply in a heart beat. I have a friend who managed food service for the local university and she was crazy busy. Very early mornings and late nights. It takes a ton of planning and organization.
