    2012 Coaches Cook Off

I haven't seen a thread on this. Not sure how many of you were there, but this easily one of my favorite events to go too. It costs 50 bucks and is all the food and drink you want so it's a decent deal. The coaches take the competition fairly serious and the pork loin was excellent. The best part is that most of the coaches are boozin and you can really get some good information from them. I would say there was roughly 200 people there, and for how cool a deal it is there should be 1000 people. All the money goes right to the football team and you don't have to be a member of the Gridiron Club to attend. Good times.

It was a beautiful day for it. I thought Bray was robbed, as His was the best, IMHO. And Douglas isn't lacking for confidence.

I agree. Pretty much everyone in our group thought Brey's was the best.

I agree. It was a great day and a fun time. I will be going again for sure. Its a good thing that most people don't drink as much as the CEO, or they would have to raise the entry fee just to break even!

    Re: 2012 Coaches Cook Off

Bray is the man and I thought his pork was the best. He had a great rub on it and cooked it very well. Fantastic event overall and had great weather, great job by the Gridiron Club and the coaching staff! The only thing I'll do differently next year is hit up the buffet line quicker, the ribs went fast!

    GO CYCLONES!!!

Last I checked it isn't illegal to have a few drinks, and in my book, this makes our group of coaches much more likeable. I didn't say they were getting smashed, like Tom Herman did last year.

I talked primarily with Bray so it was a lot of D-Line stuff. The thing he said I found most interesting was that he thinks Steele Jantz will be our starter against Tulsa.

    Re: 2012 Coaches Cook Off

CPR gave the speech that you would expect from him....from the heart & emotional. A speech that made you want to run threw a brick wall when he was done talking. The big piece of info was that the 12,000 sf weight room was the primary focus of the new fball facility. Yancy got everything that he wanted & this was in large part due to the CGC $$$ that is given directly to the fball program.
