I miss the alliteration of Monday Musings. I do like how "tues" and "mus" sound similar though.

What drives me crazy in the whole QB battle is how Jantz is often referred to as "the better runner". Miller and Brinson must've said it 10 times last week. Jantz may be the faster runner, but I'll take Barnett's running abilities. Barnett runs the zone read SO much better than Jantz, its not even funny. I also thought Barnett did a great job of taking off and running when plays broke down, certainly no worse than Jantz in that department.

Agree completely. Barnett is much better at making the first guy miss, which is really more important than straight-line speed. However, once teams saw some film on his scrambling ability, they really seemed to shut it down. Hopefully he can adjust.

I think Jantz has better scrambling ability when the blocking breaks down, he seems to get away from what look like sure tackles. I like JB's zone read running and "designed runs" better than SJ.

“It’s beyond pride. It’s a restored trust. There’s a confidence again, a passion that teeters on swagger. More than anything, (Iowa State head coach Paul Rhoads) has restored the Iowa State “it” factor, the steadfast belief that it is great to be a Cyclone...the man’s enthusiasm is genuine to the core...”

Fun fact, JB averaged more yards per carry last year than Seneca Wallace did in his career at Iowa State.
