His opportunity to be in the limelight by throwing cheap elbows and being a dirty player is gone now that the Lakers are out. These remarks are the only way he will be relevant until his next stupid/dangerous foul in the 2012-2013 season.

While I agree that OKC is the better team, what do you want him to say? we sucked and we shouldnt even try? Of course he will say I think were the better team but we didnt play like it.

Also, Im glad you pointed out that the better team always wins. Thats why I dont see why ISU wasnt ranked #2 right after we beat OSU.

I love how he tried to call Harden out with the "I don't shake reserves hands" comment.
Stats over the 5 games series
Harden 16 ppg 28.8 minutes per game
Artest 11 ppg 38.2 minutes per game.

Looks like Artest should be the reserve.

I agree that it wouldn't be likely for him to say OKC is the better team - but your analogy between ISU's win and OKCs win is a little flawed. The Lakers got beat 4-1 in a best of 7 series. I'm sure if ISU played OSU last year in a best of 7 series (with having to play some of those games in Stillwater), we would not have won that series - thus the better team would have won. (BTW, I love my Cyclones, so I am not trying to diss their accomplishment last fall)

Utah Utes, Illinois Illini. The University of Pennsylvania thought about following this pattern by calling themselves the Pennsylvania Pencils. However, they were afraid their students would start chanting "We're No. 2"

I get what you are saying and you are correct.

Sorry Artest, your team was not better.

Every game I saw was Kobe playing his *** off and the rest of the team looking for him to carry them.

In every case I know, 4-1 says your team is the best team.

He's right about the underachieving part. However, he probably doesn't understand that by getting himself kicked out of the playoffs for 6 games, he was "underachieving" as well. Unfortunately (if you are a Lakers fan), Metta had alot of help...

The Lakers didn't underachieve. They got out of the first round, and losing in the second round is pretty much their ceiling with the roster as it is now. No depth and awfully slow are not a good combination for the playoffs. They are no longer a serious title contender anymore.

I would contend that Gasol and Bynum underachieved during the playoffs, as discussed in the NBA playoff thread. The depth problem has been apparent for two seasons now, except that it was masked somewhat by Odom last year. I guess you could say that Kupchak has been underachieving in that respsect.

Im excited for the moves they will make this off season, think if stern hadnt fd them and they got chris paul like they should and would have.

I dont see gasol or artest wearing forum blue next year.

I would like to see D howard and a point guard added for next year.

Artest plays hard and gives a full effort, and I do admire that aspect of his game. Unfortunately he just makes foolish decisions detrimental to the team. If Bynum played half as hard as Artest, Bynum could be in the running for MVP. Interesting discussion on one of the ESPN pages as to whether Mike Brown has the personality to straighten out Bynum's bad attitude.
