I know some people who have bought theirs at K-Mart and were happy with it.

Yep. My parents just got some from there. Aside from some of it being an absolute pain in the *** to assemble (though you'll probably get that at a lot of places) its good furniture.

No Menards in Ames but there's one a short drive away in Ankeny.

Country Landscapes maybe. Not sure. It would be pricey I'd assume.

I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

If there is a Big Lots! anywhere close they usually have good items & it's usually much more 'cost effectice.'

If you are looking for something heavy duty, you will need to order online or go to DSM. We considered the weight of the individual chairs since we get strong NW winds. Our neighbors chairs have ended up in our yard on more than one occasion. Once we get our furniture we will bungee the chairs to the table when we think the wind will be howling through. Also, skip the glass top tables. We had neighbors vacuuming glass out of their glass after their table blew over and shattered.

We got our set at Fireplace Superstore in DSM. They are similar to what Rec Room Plus used to be as far as outdoor furniture. Dropped some major coin, but wanted to spend once and have it last then buy a cheap set every few years.

Nebraska Furniture Mart online had a big selection. We found a different online site that offered us 10% off thei lowest price, but took that quote into the Fireplace Superstore and they beat it. Downside is we ordered 4+ weeks ago and still to here yet. Have a brand new patio to enjoy and no furniture.
