Kendall Wright: Baylor had no playbook

    Wright: Baylor had no playbook

So basically they relied heavily on RGIII and his ability to make plays...their offense without RGIII and Wright next year takes a huge step back IMO.

“I think I memorized over 300 plays at Baylor. … We had a lot of plays. We just didn’t have a playbook.

You can't win like they did just playing with 11 guys running around playground style. They had to have some sort of design to the offense with set directions...whether they were all in a book together, that's another question.

yeah, kind of a misleading headline. Sounds like they ran plays, but they just weren't in book form.

It's what you download on your Kindle. Maybe he's just confused since he couldn't get it on his Kindle, he didn't realize it was a book.

I bet RG3 just drew them on his hand while in the huddle. Word is he emphasized getting the ball out before 5-Mississippi.

Re: Kendall Wright: Baylor had no playbook

I think people are out of their minds for not jumping off this bandwagon. Why do people think they win 6+ games season? They return a god awful defense, Lose every good playmaker on offense, one being the top player in the nation. I honestly don't see them winning a conference game next season except for maybe KU.

If you ask the basketball analysts outside the state of Iowa I think you would be surprised to hear their responses. Iowa was pegged as a preseason top 5 team by one ESPN analyst and is ranked in the vast, vast majority of preseason top 25 polls

Considering the offensive talent surrounding him in Washington, that might be 2 Mississippis too many.

Defense will still be bad, but the offense has plenty of playmakers including WR's that had 900, 800, and 500 receiving yards. Our running back was a 5 star out of high school who is just now eligible. Florence won't come close to RGIII but in his only action last year he put up 35 in a half against Tech. O-Line looks to be great yet again. We aren't going to win 10, but I don't think 6 is out of question.

Yeah, it sounds like a lot of uptempo, spread coaches are trying to move away from having physical playbooks. In Mike Leach's Reddit AMA last week, he talked about trying to do away with the playbook as much as possible. He wanted his offense to see everything on film, because he thought it helped players remember the plays and their assignments better. It sounds like Briles is doing something similar at Baylor.
