very cool. Yosemite is awesome. My brother, sister, and mother all work there. I'm always jealous of them that they get to go to work every day in such a beautiful place.

Pretty sweet time lapses! I wonder what he used to move the camera so slowly and smoothly through each scene? I thought that added a great effect.

I'm guessing that is a computer effect. Most likely it is movement over a bigger image. Kinda like when you crop a picture and you can move that crop box around on the image. What we are seeing is the crop.

The guy is a visual artist which means he uses a number of means to construct the video. If he just filmed it and put it in a video he most likely would have been called a videographer.

I would bet that he has more than one camera running for a number of shots and he overlapped the images to construct the video. For example, the day shots where you can see the stars, I don't know of any camera that would be able to pull those out of a day time sky and still be able to provide a clean sharp image of the mountains. You can't do that out of the same lens no matter how expensive the camera or how skilled the person using it.

    Re: Yosemeti Time Lapse

My best man from my wedding works at the Ansel Adams Gallery at Yosemite and absolutely loves it. I was supposed to go there to visit him in the spring of last year (before tourist season began), but they had a huge snowstorm the day before I was to fly out. The roads were closed and the power went out, so I had to cancel. I haven't been to the park since 1985 when I was a kid, so I don't remember much of it first-hand anymore. It would be great to get back and visit again (as long as the weather cooperates).

Are you kidding me?!?! Wow. VERY cool.
I highly recommend watching Ken Burns "The National Parks: America's Best Idea" if you haven't seen it. Fantastic documentary.

Very cool. Reminds me of 2/3 of the "movie" Koyaanisqatsi with all the time-lapse video of natural stuff like that (skip to 0:30)

Too cool! He's been working there about a year (IIRC) and is really into photography. It was the perfect job in the perfect place for him.

I have an awesomely beautiful "Keeler original print" of the Yosemite Valley hanging in the living room. Not an Adams, but I'd rather have this one any day.
