Very smart of you to delete that post, kentkel. I'll go ahead and respond anyway.

Girls playing boys' sports is a very different thing, post-puberty. There's this little thing called testosterone that makes people have bigger and stronger muscles. Girls are going to have a huge disadvantage in any sport that relies on strength and quickness because they just don't have very much testosterone, and boys have tons of it.

But then you already knew that, and were hopefully just trolling.

My first question was gonna be why isn't she playing softball.

Since they don't have a team, I don't see a problem with this.

Should we take bets on if the kids or parents wanted the team to forfeit?

Re: High School baseball team forfeits championship game

So if schools are to institute the following...
"Lisa Maatz, director of public policy at the American Association of University Women, said the situation is a clear example of why Title IX law, which enforces gender equality in education programs including sports, is needed."
    AND:
Nancy Hogshead-Makar, senior director of advocacy for the Women's Sports Foundation, said..."In real life, these boys are going to be competing against the girls for jobs, for positions in graduate programs or in trade schools," Hogshead-Makar said. "In every other area of their life, they are going to be competing side by side."

...then, high school boys that want to play girl's volleyball should be given that opportunity. And further still: since ISU does NOT have baseball, then any male student should be given the opportunity to try out for the softball team. Do I really believe and want that to happen? No, but I get tired of this type of argument.

Football occurs during the same season is the reason men won't be playing women's volleyball in HS. If the school doesn't have football then it could happen.

Yeah, I fully understand that & I'm not, personally, advocating for boys participation in girls sports. My point was, that if these proponents of equality truly ARE proponents of equality, they shouldn't choose which group gets more equal treatment - it has to go both ways. I would have more respect for their position on equality if they came out in favor of boys having an opportunity to compete in girls sports. Again, I don't favor this, personally, but these advocates wouldn't come across as duplicitous as they seem to be right now.
