    Car Keys

We have a guy in our office who thinks we are all weird for only carrying one set of car keys with us. His whole family carries both sets of car keys with them at all times. Traditionally one key is attached to their house key set, and the other is loose for use.

So tell me do you carry one set of keys or two? This would be two keys to a single car, not to both yours and your spouses car.

I carry both if I need to switch vehicles, which does happen on occasion. Wife's work is not easy to just go in and get the keys from her.

My husband and I both always carry keys for both cars. We sometimes switch vehicles midday.

Do you mean both as in one for each car?

    Re: Car Keys

With all of the cars having remotes now, its too bulky to carry both. I do keep three sets (home, car1, car2) and have a clip that I usually carry the home and whichever car I am driving. I think the next step needs to be putting the proximity style keys into a smart phone so you don't have to carry your keys at all.

Yes, I have keys for my primary vehicle and the keys for my wife's primary vehicle in my pocket when I leave the house.

Oh, I interpreted the OP as saying the guy carries two keys for one car.

    Re: Car Keys

I have my key for my truck with me at all times. If I'm going to need her car mid day, I'll grab her extra key when I leave in the morning.

Could be. I wouldn't carry two sets for the same vehicle.

You're not alone, I had to read it a couple of times to make sure I understood. I originally thought this, too.

    Re: Car Keys

I dont understand whay you would carry more than one set. Last time I checked you can only drive one at a time. If you need to switch in the middle of the day or something why not just drive that vehicle originally?

I suppose if in the am one parent has to take the brood of kids around and then the other needs to pick them up/drive them to activities I can see having to switch.

This brings me to my next question. Why dont all cars have the keyless entry pads on the door? Lock the keys in the car and anyone with the code can get in and take the car. No need to even carry keys as they are always in the car.

My wife and I both carry one key to our vehicles. No more, no less. If crap happens that's why we have AAA.

This is the case most often from what I have seen. Or one parent has the car with the carseat, and they don't want to move the carseat from one vehicle to the other for the other parent (which is a giant pain).

Does he carry his cellphone on a belt clip with a leather case too?
