Hoiberg at yesterday's Motivational seminar at Wells Fargo

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Coach Hoiberg's speech at the Motivational seminar yesterday in DM.

Anyway, I thought it was great...even more entertaining than I expected. Great hearing his stories on NBA, love for Ames, and longtime dream to someday be ISU's coach.

That said, I was a bit annoyed he was scheduled last so half the crowd was gone by the time he took the stage at 4:30ish.

Any pirated audio available for folks that didn't hear his speech?

I wasn't there, but I'm not the least bit surprised. Fred is genuinely cool. He was when he was a student/athlete and he is now when he's out engaging the general public. Whatever "it" is, he has it. (no homo)

It was a great way to end the day there. Sucked that I had to sit through a lady sucking the life out of the crowd one speech prior. Hoiberg brought it home!

I went, but showed up late and left early. We had to leave and get some more stuff done before the end of the day. Was pretty disappointed in the day...

Re: Hoiberg at yesterday's Motivational seminar at Wells Fargo

He did a great job. Funny to hear him describe how he shut down Michael Jordan for the last shot in a game his rookie season. It was too bad they stuck him last. He followed one of the most annoying speakers that drove people off. He was also much better than kirky boy who went first and had a full house. They even played the iowa fight song for kf. Nothing for CFH.

Side note. Carl Rove was interesting to hear describe 911. Some really good inside stuff to share about how they flew 5 feet from the ground at 125 mph to get to the white house.

The story of the police escorting Bush and him was really good. Got the crowd laughing at the end of the story.

Isn't it mostly about selling inspirational books and CDs once they get you there?

Re: Hoiberg at yesterday's Motivational seminar at Wells Fargo

I went a couple years ago. The speakers themselves were fine. Enjoyed a bunch of them. It was all the selling of get rich stuff in between that made it tough to stay for the whole day then. Was it similar yesterday?

Exaggeration is a BILLION times worse than understating.

Well..they have to pay for the event somehow.

Basically, three speakers were selling seminars that were to take place later in DM. The rest were all there to speak...not selling stuff.

That seems to me to be a fair tradeoff. How else are you going to hear Bill Cosby, Joe Montana, Ferentz, Hoiberg for a misely $5 entry fee?

I hope you don't work for a private investigation firm. If so, I assume you're not real busy.

And how about thinking for yourself? Do you think Coach Hoiberg would associate himself with a "scam"?!?

Who was selling the seminars? Was this one of the Tony Robbins events? I generally don't find the professional inspirational speakers to be all that inspiring.

Tolerating the few in order to hear Cosby, Montana, Hoiberg, etc. is worth $5.

Re: Hoiberg at yesterday's Motivational seminar at Wells Fargo

It was the exact same thing as the last time they were in town. Fred did a great job. He did follow the worst speaker of the day that cleared out a ton of people. There were four speakers that made the day worth while in my opinion.

I wonder how many people who signed up for the investing web site and seminar are wondering what they got themselves into today.
