    Question about Blu Ray players

I have an 5 year old LCD TV which I have never upgraded the firmware on it. I am wanting to purchase a blu ray player which can access Netflix, Pandora, etc. from it. Will there be any compatibility issues with this setup?

Re: Question about Blu Ray players

As long as the TV has the proper inputs I can't imagine a problem.

It's hard to say, but as long as your TV has an HDMI input, I can't see what the problem would be

Re: Question about Blu Ray players

If you have an HDMI input or component input and the BluRay player has HDMI or component outputs to match you should be good to go.

Re: Question about Blu Ray players

    Shouldn't be any problems.

But I have to ask, does your TV already have streaming capability? I've never heard of a TV (at least one that old) that needed firmware updated.

Also out of curiosity, if your TV does require firmware updates, why haven't you done it? Are you going to keep your bluray's firmware updated?

    That is all, Your Honor.

Why on earth would you want something that doesn't transmit in HD on a BluRay player?

HDMI cables transmit personal information to the MPAA and in turn, to the government.

I'm sure you still have a 3.5" floppy drive on your computer to combat that newfangled flash drive/Dropbox world.
