    Charles Rogers

Was at Kingston Stadium tonight in CR and saw Charles Rogers from IC West run.

He is built pretty darn good, and won probably 3 events. Pretty good athlete.

Didn't see him run for quite a few weeks there, so I think he must have been suspended. Back now though and looking good.

Has alot of potential if he keeps his head on straight. Glad to hear he did well.

I'll tell you someone who is REALLY fast though.... James Harrington out of Cedar Falls... WOW.

Charles Rogers was pretty darn impressive though. Looks like he'd make a great safety. Big upper body, and fast.

I will tell you... Barkley Hill is not impressive... at least speed wise. I didn't see him run tonight, but saw him earlier in the indoor season, and he looked SLOW.

but if he signed with us he'd have been fastest guy at the meet.

    Re: Charles Rogers

Didn't Barkley Hill tear his ACL? Or was it just a sprain...or am I completely imagining things?

I'd think hurting an ACL in November would lead to being fairly slow still in March/April when most teams are doing indoor meets.

Honestly, if there is anyone I would not accuse of being a homer, it's clonedude.

Hill's best asset is not his speed, that's for sure. I still think that he'll do just fine in iowa's offense. Probably better than he'd do in our spread. It will be interesting to see what they do with Charlie Rodgers. He's definitely put together well. I was thinking Safety all the way, but it sounds like they're going to try him at Corner. I wonder if he has the speed and agility to play there.

It would be interesting to see who ISU's fastest 2012 recruit is. Rodgers has to be up there. But is he faster than Lawry, Stokes, Daley, Harris, Mutcherson? I wonder.

    Re: Charles Rogers

Barkley will start at some point this season for Iowa. Not because he is the best RB they have, but because they will have injuries and guys getting in trouble just like every other year...

Did we sign Rogers as a safety or a corner? I would imagine safety. He should be a good player for us if he keeps his head on straight as someone else already mentioned.

Gotta love those Iowa City Cyclones. Is he gonna RS Fresh year or is he the type of guy we need on the field ASAP?

I don't think Rogers is probably as fast as some of those guys you listed, but at least he's dominating in the MVC meets. I'd be worried if he wasn't.

I know we are looking at him at corner, but I'm not sure he has the quickness or the hips for it? He looks like a great safety to me, but I don't know much.

    Re: Charles Rogers

My best guess is (that eventually) Charles Rogers will be used in a role similar to how the defense utilizes CJ Morgan.
