Re: RECRUITING: Uthoff visit recap, plans to take his time

I am glad to see he enjoyed himself and that Fred was interested in him playing the 3. Wish we could have locked him down but you cant win them all.

If you ask the basketball analysts outside the state of Iowa I think you would be surprised to hear their responses. Iowa was pegged as a preseason top 5 team by one ESPN analyst and is ranked in the vast, vast majority of preseason top 25 polls

Take his time is not good for us. This is exactly what I was afraid of.

Needs to make a good decision. He's a little gun shy right now. If he was meant to be here he will be.

    You were afraid? Really?

This guy is not a make or break recruit. Hell, he's not even eligible until 2013. If he doesn't come to ISU, they will fill his scholarship with someone else.

I want Jarrod Uthoff to be a Cyclone, but I have heard Iowa is his #1. Sorry about using the word afraid gorf. I was hoping we would hear something different than "he wanted to make sure he likes it, and wants to take his time."

I'd like him, but yeah, nothing this offseason is make or break.

To expect anything else is foolish. The kid is on his 2nd and final school. To commit on the spot would be foolish since he has options.

I've also heard that Iowa is his #1 but guess what, I've also heard that they aren't.

Think of his decision as an entrance exam. If he picks Iowa, he's too stupid to make it at Iowa State.

He ran all the others teams offenses when he was on the scout team at Wisconsin. Word is he LOVED Fran's offense.

He loved any offense that allowed players to shoot before the shot clock expired. I expect him to be a Cyclone.

Re: RECRUITING: Uthoff visit recap, plans to take his time

I'm not going to be losing any sleep over Uthoff. If he wants to be a Cyclone, great. If not, then Fred will find someone equally as good or better IMO.

If Uthoff wants to go to Iowa and experience 4 years of mediocrity, then so be it. He should ask Matt Gatens how fun it was to spend his years there playing in front of a morgue most nights when the students would only show up if you gave them a free ticket, a free hot dog, a free pop, and a free bobblehead.

Wisky, ISU, Florida, and Creighton all won games this year in the NCAA Tourney. Iowa didn't even make the tourney. If he goes there, he will get what he deserves.

I thought big 10 schools were still off limits though.

For someone that says he won't lose any sleep over Uthoff going to Iowa (potentially) you sound like you would at least stay up pretty late.
