Re: Who remembers Moose Skowron, passed away today

I was a big Yankee fan when I was a kid in the 50's. (yea I'm old) When they fired Yogi Berra as manager and hired the hated Cardinal manager Johnny Keane I said I would never cheer for them again. I've hated the Yanks since.
Mantle, Berra and Ford got most of the PR but Skowron was a solid player for some outstanding Yankee teams.

I remember this. Keane had just beat the Yankees in the 64 world series, resigned because Auggie was trying to hire Leo the Lip and left for NY and my favorite Card at the time Red Schoendienst took over in STL. September of '64 was the four team scramble in the NL ...... what a race. Moose was a great guy.

Re: Who remembers Moose Skowron, passed away today

Just finished a good biography of Mickey Mantle and his exploits on and off the field were amazing. Wish I had been a Yankee!
