    I thought differently

    ProFootballWeekly.com - Draft Prospect - Kelechi Osemele

I thought Clayborn was pretty much taken out of the game against ISU his two last seasons? Maybe I am mistaken but I am almost positive KO was on him last year and Clayborn only had three tackles in a game where we got spanked.

Just curious I suppose. A lot of negatives in here... and some of those aren't what most other sources have been saying. That comment in "The Buzz" part of his profile is brutal.

    Re: I thought differently

I think you are spot on. Don't remember Clayborn dominating him at all. Stalemate at worst IMO.

Was pretty harsh criticism on there. Immature. Poor work ethic. I hope he proves everyone wrong.

Was that written by a former Hawkeye?

    Re: I thought differently

He came into the 2011 season as a projected first round pick by many "experts," but KO seemed to leave the field hurt at least once every game he played in last season. That didn't help.

    Re: I thought differently

KO was playing on a bum ankle all year. I would expect that he would be off the field at least once.

Kind of hard to rehab an ankle that has 345 lbs pounding on it at competition speed with significant lateral movement.

Agreed though, the negatives in that article almost seemed personal, maybe Clayborne wrote it.

    Re: I thought differently

I thought that KO flat out dominated Clayborn in Ames 2009. In IC the next year, I thought it was closer to a stalemate.

I'll disagree with the analysis. He's pretty far from soft or timid. He has his limitations (stopping speed rushers on the outside), but he's VERY aggressive on the field. I really doubt he needs to be spoonfed or pushed along by an OL coach.

Might never have enough grit, toughness or desire to become a consistent pro
He must have just been a teddy bear during his interviews, because I have no idea where they get this.

    Re: I thought differently

That had to be written by a Hawkeye, it had to.

There is no way a guy with that many negatives is considered one of the best coming out of the Big XII. Seemed like as much of a personal attack as it was an evaluation. Basically every positive the guy gave was then contradicted by a negative.

Just seemed weird and harsh. Didn't want to go out ranting. Almost a vindictive approach from the author.

    Re: I thought differently

This quote is pretty much the exact opposite of what we know KO to be, "Has a soft playing temperament and lacks mental toughness. Average football intelligence. Lazy worker — needs to be challenged. Difficult to manage. Average work habits. Immature."

To me this sounds like a disgruntled former coach or something. Sounds like the author's source was some d!ckhole on Chizik's staff or something.

    Re: I thought differently

another quote from the buzz section

NFL evaluator: "(Iowa State OT) Kelechi Osemele is intelligent and might be able to convince a coach for 2-3 days at an all-star game that he is a good guy, but when you are around him too long, you realize he is full of it. I think he’ll be a right tackle in the league, not a left."

Are they talking about the right person?
