Big names who visited, but didnt sign

I was curious, I never follow recruiting and I know some of you guys really do.

Who are some big names who we got on campus but didnt sign? Or even players who didnt visit but had us on a shorter list.

Im talking all time, not just recent.

I don't know how much validity there is, but I had heard that Johnny was close to signing Glen Rice.

Had Rice signed in the early period as he planned he would've come to Iowa State. If I remember right, he was convinced to hold off and then Michigan lost a recruit or two over the following months and he then switched to Michigan.

Our stacked roster of the late 80's could have been even more stacked.

It was known that his celebrity crush was Kim Kardashian at the time.

    ******-baggery of the highest order.

While on live TV, Ford used a vulgar term to describe a private part of the female anatomy, adding that he was “happily married” and “got more than enough to eat at home.”

Looking at his NBA stats overrated comes to mind.

    and this:

Humphries married reality TV personality Kim Kardashian on August 20, 2011.[19] On October 31, 2011, it was announced that Kardashian filed for divorce from Humphries after 72 days of marriage.[20][21] On December 1, 2011, Humphries filed his response to Kardashian's petition, requesting an annulment on the grounds of fraud or a decree of legal separation rather than Kardashian's requested divorce.[22]

If you think about it, he probably wasnt overated, just getting to the nba is a pretty huge accomplishment, Id say only the top 2-3 hs prospects are "guaranteed" an nba contract.

I also highly doubt that him marrying kk in the future impacted his recruiting.

You asked why he only had a few offers. My opinion is other coaches probably felt he was not as good as his rivals rating. Looking at NBA stats they were probably right. Yes, he's in the NBA.

I included the KK marriage because I didn't know it was him.

Rice was the first one that popped into my head as well. Was he the same class as Grayer or a year younger? Johnny was really kicking *** in the state of Michigan there for awhile. Oh what could have been with Rice!
