    Quote from Young:

“A lot of people on the outside like to blame everything on coach (Kirk) Ferentz and our staff,” tailback Albert Young said today. “Trust me, that’s completely wrong.

While you cannot blame everything on the coaching staff, you can blame them for recruiting people into their program who are obviously thugs.

They are facing lots of problems, and so far it seems they are ignoring addressing things straight up.

What do you guys expect? You can't comment on a player's potential legal problems until they are actually charged. There is no way you can do that. He addressed it as well as he could. It will come out soon enough and then we'll all know.

It's not being secretive - what do you expect Ferentz to say? There is no way in hell he can address this until it becomes public.

I didn't expect him to say anything, I just quoted the article and then expressed my personal opinion on that quote.

It just annoys me how there seems to be a lot of finger pointing going on here. It wasn't that long ago we were Lawbreaker U in this state.

While I agree 100% that we shouldn't be throwing stones, I don't recall a point in ISU's history where they have had anywhere near the amount of arrests that EIU has had lately.

We have been for the most part understanding to the U of I for the wrap sheet they are compiling. The question now is when will it end? It is like 11 players this year alone. That is more than the Cincinnati Bengals and they are were the laughing stock of the media for months.

Re: Who's to blame at Iowa...DM Reg story.

How long does Barta let this go on without punishing the coach. Someone has to be responsible and when you make 2.8 million a year, I believe that would make you that man. Things are getting out of hand. He can't be with the players 24/7 but something more serious has to be done.

Hey and with the exception of Berryman, we never had this many serious problems at one time in one sport. I would call them as bad as THUG U in their prime, but they still won National Titles....

Wasn't there a release from Barta a couple weeks ago about needing to "talk" with KF about the off-the-field issues that have been occuring this year?

Re: Who's to blame at Iowa...DM Reg story.

If I remember right, it's 11 players arrested for a total of 14 counts since April. Each individual is responsible for their actions but ultimately the coach is responsible for the collective actions of the players. I think the coach has to be held accountable at some point for all these problems.

A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player.

There was some talk about it. And I know I saw someone saying that on HN... I can't imagine that Ferentz can't be feeling alittle hot under the collar. I'm thankful that we haven't had this happen with Chizik in his first year...

You're right, it was on HN, I thought there was a link with it, but it was late Sunday when I read that. My bad.
