Country music fans, TNN (The Nashville Network) returns this Summer!

As an over the air digital subchannel.

TNN To Return Late This Summer | AllAccess.com

THE NASHVILLE NETWORK (TNN) will resume Country music and lifestyle programming as a digital broadcast network in late SUMMER 2012. THE CROOK & CHASE COUNTDOWN hosts LORIANNE CROOK and CHARLIE COOK, along with JIM OWENS ENTERTAINMENT and LUKEN COMMUNICATIONS made the announcement at the 2012 NAB SHOW in LAS VEGAS.

TNN, originally launched in 1983 as a cable network featuring Country music programming and was sold in 2000 and subsequently changed its name and programming to target a different demographic. The network will return to broadcast television through exclusive network affiliates. Programming will combine digitally restored classic content pulled from the vaults in NASHVILLE with contemporary shows. The lineup will include shows like MEMORIES OF THE GRAND OLE OPRY, CROOK & CHASE, CELEBRITY KITCHEN, THE COUNTRY VIBE, MUSIC CITY TONIGHT, LARRY’S COUNTRY DINER and more.

TNN is a sister network to LUKEN COMMUNICATIONS’ RETRO TELEVISION (RTV), MY FAMILY TV, TUFF TV, PBJ, MYCARTV and FROST GREAT OUTDOORS.

So it can fail for a second time? The only reason whily it survived failure the first time was because it rebranded itself into the man's counterpart to Lifetime.

Isn't TNN the network that turned into SpikeTV?

It failed becauce like all Viacom owned cable networks (CMT, VH1-Classic, TV Land, etc.), Viacom ran TNN into the groud.

It's coming back as a broadcast channel. Different approach. It may or may not succeed there, but I like seeing new content for the digital broadcast channels.

I loved Pop Goes The Country with Ralph Emery. Great acts on that show.

Put Hee Haw on a continuous loop, and I'm in. My dad made me watch that show every Sunday night. (This was in the 3-channel days for you young-uns).

I hated it at the time, but as I've matured, let's just say I've come to appreciate its appeal to male viewers.
