    Re: MBB Tickets for Sale

No offense but those are some pricy tickets for that section. Isn't 242 one of the $99 season tickets?

    Re: MBB Tickets for Sale

You can get tickets to the non-conference games for $10 or less. I had trouble last year trying to give away tickets in the lower level for a friend who could not go.

    Re: MBB Tickets for Sale

$10/ticket is a very cheap night out. I'm not looking to make money on the $99 season tickets so non-conference games are negotiable.

that is exactly what you are doing... making money on the $99 tix.

the average price is $5/seat/game. If conference games are worth double, then the non-con games are only worth $3-$4 each.....

    Re: MBB Tickets for Sale

How is that when the average face value of those tickets are about $5? Those aren't even the full schedule you have listed and they add up to $162 a seat.

I have my season tickets so I'm not worried about buying tickets but how can you say you aren't looking to make money when you are selling for over face value of the season ticket?

    Re: MBB Tickets for Sale

I also have 2 season tickets at full price. For the 1-3 games I am unable to make it to, I give the tickets to friends/family to use. I am not a big fan of reselling tickets, especially to make a profit.

Why not donate the tickets to a youth group instead of making a profit off of the tickets? It is a free market and you can do as you wish though. Hope you sleep well tonight

    Re: MBB Tickets for Sale

I see all of your points and in no way was I trying to offend anyone by saying that I'm not trying to make money. What I should have said is that I'm trying to break even overall over the course of the season since I'm only able to make it to a select few games that I wanted to guarantee myself having tickets to (therefore not trying to make money). Knowing that non-conference tickets many times go unsold and that the ticket price will be selling at $15/ticket through the athletic department, I figured I would set a negotiable price at $10/ticket, therefore offering a discounted ticket. If the ticket doesn't sell, then I'm sure that I will be giving the tickets away. Ultimately, I want to have Cyclone fans in the seats for every game.

Again, I apologize if I made it sound as if I was trying to take anyone for a ride.

At any rate, I believe what you're doing is illegal. Face value on those tickets are $4.95, so technically you're scalping on every single one of them. I'm sure the cops will be cool with it though if you explain that you're only selling the UNI tickets for $20 because you probably won't be able to sell your USC-Upstate tickets later on in the season

    Re: MBB Tickets for Sale

It's not illegal... face value on a season ticket isn't season ticket price divided by number of tickets. It's something else... technically you get a discount by buying season tickets.

I'd take it a little easy on the guy. If he has buyers at that price, he will sell his tickets. If not, he won't. It's not like he's making thousands of dollars off of poor unsuspecting Cyclone fans, most of whom will either get, like he said, a discount on a single game or two that they want to see, or who already have season tickets.

Not saying I agree with how he is doing it, but I am assuming I will never see your guys' name on the ticket exchange board.

    Re: MBB Tickets for Sale

    Non-Conference Single-game Tickets
Single-game tickets for 2007 Iowa State home non-conference games go on sale Nov. 1.

    100 Level (break games): $15*
    200 Level (sides): $16
    200 Level (corner/endzone): $10

Believe what you want to believe. Face value of those tickets is $10. It doens't matter what it averages out to. Nevertheless...this is turning into more of a headache than what it is worth. Non-conference tickets are no longer for sale.

I'm sitting here looking at my tickets and the face value is printed right on them at $4.95. What else would you think is the face value?
