    Talk on climate change

I'm posting this as an off-topic, rather than the politics forum, since it is meant to be informational rather than political. If it evolves otherwise, go ahead and move it.

For those of you close enough to Ames: An ISU professor, who is a well-known climate change expert and a part of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, is giving a talk tomorrow night.

Wednesday, October 24, 6:00 p.m., Technology, Globalization, and Culture Series, "Global Environmental Change: Technology and the Future of Planet Earth," Gene Takle, professor of atmospheric science and agricultural meteorology at Iowa State and faculty director of the University Honors Program, free, Alliant Energy-Lee Liu Auditorium, Howe Hall.

It is open to the public. Since this topic received a great deal of attention here before, I thought a few of you might be interested.

    Re: Talk on climate change

maybe the ISU student republicans can stage a protest outside of the auditorium....

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.

    Thomas Jefferson, 1802
