I hope this wasn't paid research. I could've told you that looking around campus.

I wish CyRide had a camera system which measured height combined with a scale that got your weight. If it decided you were fat it made you walk to class.

I have a friend who rides from library to Carver ever morning

He's not fat... But still, that should be a walk

He probably spends more time waiting for the bus then it takes to walk there.

Haha. I actually enjoy walking to class when it's not precipitating/very windy/cold.

Same here. I would walk to campus and back from a couple block west of the west Hy-Vee every day. It got cold in late January, but was always an enjoyable way to start/end a day.

Unless my destination is more than 3 miles away, I don't take CyRide. I walk to every single location I need to be at on campus.

Me too. We have an awesome campus, I sometimes even take long ways to class provided I'm not in a hurry.

Same here. My rule of thumb for riding the bus: only take it when it saves me at least 5 min. Or the weather is ******. Even then I usually walk.

I cannot comprehend how some people don't get this concept, and choose to wait 15 minutes for a bus, so they don't have to make a walk that would have taken 10 minutes.

During the summer, there has to be thunder and lightning before I'll take the bus.

Re: Most Americans are physically lazy

I used to walk from the band practice field to my car (parked between CY and Jack Trice) at the end of the day every day in the fall. Uphills, both ways, in the snow, etc.

Seriously, though. ISU is beautiful most of the school year, there's not a lot of roads or traffic to make you have to stop 'n' go, might as well enjoy it.

Re: Most Americans are physically lazy

I dont think college students are the problem. I am guess on average college students probably tend to walk more than the average American. Will you all continue to walk when you get into the real world? I bet 99/100 of you wont walk like you do now.
