    Today's Spin from Sooner Land

The word on the Sports Animal call in show down here in Sooner nation today was that Bradford was really inaccurate during Saturday's game. I believe the direct quote was that if he was at all accurate in hitting his receivers, the score would have been 42 to 7.

Of course this is from the folks who still don't give Boise State their due and blame the loss on all the "trick plays". Drives me nuts listening to it sometimes!

I only saw the last eight minutes of the game - was Bradford that inaccurate or are they just not giving us our due? Just curious as to thoughts from those who were at the game.

Read the post game quotes on cyclones.com even Stoops was blaming the score on the wind. Saying that Bradford just couldn't get a handle on the wind and let his passes sail a bit.

He missed a couple guys who had a step or two. And he missed a couple other times where they might have converted for a first down. Frankly, I wasn't impressed with him that much.

But 42-7 is a little bit of a reach - by maybe 14-21 points.

And if we convert on a FG, on a 3rd and 1, and don't get a ball batted at the goal line - we possbily win by 10.

    Coulda, woulda, shoulda.

I believe you, that doesn't surprise me a bit. They have already annointed Bradford as the second coming of Tom Brady down here.

He definitely missed some easy touchdowns....but who knows what would have happened.

I recall three deep balls that Bradford missed that could have possibly been TDs.

There is a small amount of validity to them missing scores, but that there are what ifs on both sides of the ball. What if we would have had a kicker or what if we had a full back for fourth and one? ISU deserves respect for the way they played. But no I was not impressed with their QB and with a more accurate arm he could have put up more points.

Sam Bradford looked like a reincarnation of Jake Christensen. He was not as smooth as Colt McCoy. In fact Blake Sanders is more like Colt McCoy.

It was interesting that Clones did not let any of the Sooners look like All Stars, the mark of a well played game. Just hope Missouri game is respectable.

Re: Today's Spin from Sooner Land

After the game, he said he wasn't expecting the crowd to be so loud, so maybe JTS got to him a bit. Who knows?

I thought he looked pretty bad most of the game. Most of his completions were swing passes and screens. He overthrew most of his throws downfield.

I haven't really watched a lot of OU football this year, but if this is representative of how he's been playing (which I don't think it is), OU needs to do some QB development big time on this kid.

I think a lot of players would look pretty good behind that O-Line.

I can remember atleast 2 passes that he missed where the receiver had beat the defender. The score could have been worse, but it could have been better to, that's the way the game goes.

If Meyer had completed every pass and Scales had broken every tackle, the Cyclones would have won 84 - 17.

Didn't he miss at least one of those long passes going into the wind? I am thinking he missed at least 2 both ways. I thought he looked terrible for being the quarterback on the number 4 team in the nation.

Re: Today's Spin from Sooner Land

There were definitely some missed completions where the receiver was wide open. Guess that means we did get to him a bit. Or OU just puts him on a pedestal...either way, I'm not complaining. :)

Re: Today's Spin from Sooner Land

Very unimpressed with him all together...if we had any kind of redzone offense whatsoever, we woulda won the game. I hope our team AND fans really take something from that game...we are a 1 win team that obviously is on the rise if we are competing with the number 4 team in the nation. I don't think it was a matter of them "not showing up." That's all excuse land stuff.

I think there was big props to be had by the Cyclone faithful for being as loud as we were. I COULDN'T BELIEVE THE NOISE at the end of the half when Chizik was yelling down the ref!!!! This football program & fanbase really have some potential. Just think the type of noise and numbers we'd be making if we were winning games!
