    2008 Wide Receivers

I know everyone's talking about the spread offense and how we could do this and how that could be done better, but, there's a silver lining to next year already committed to ISU. If anyone hasn't seen video of our commit Christian Graham, your missing out. This kids got good size 6-2 190 and speed 4.4 and what i really like about him.....his hands are out of this world....in his rivals spotlight video, this guy catches balls in traffic, single, double and triple coverage - sometimes knowing he's gonna get jacked up....

I feel really good about this kid.....now if our qb is able to go through a progression and actually hit a 2nd or 3rd progression receiver, our offense will be improved....i don't know who that will be yet, we have Arnaud, Bates, Tiller, Jordan.....one of these kids will be expected to step in and play the qb position and if we can provide another weapon like graham, he will have go to receivers.....

the future is bright, i will miss Meyer and Blythe, but, i'm also excited about the guys coming in and taking those roles, the offense may actually be better....not to mention our line will be stout next year, everyone returning.....we just need that one guy, one qb that distinguishes himself that he can make good decisions and deliver a ball on time and to the right spot....our offense will be explosive!!!!

Awesome, check him out on this link....

    Re: 2008 Wide Receivers

Looks like he'll gobble up anything thrown in his general direction. Those catches in the film 7 out of 10 our current receivers wouldn't get. Also, it looks like he is good in getting yards after catch.

I withhold some excitement, because it is after all a highlight video

I remember when everyone was excited about how good our offense would be with Wallace Franklin lining up opposite of Blythe.

    Re: 2008 Wide Receivers

Well true, i for one was excited about franklin, but, can say i never saw a highlight video of him....all i saw was 4.4 speed....oh yeah i do remember talking about the fact that he was only 163 pounds or something like that and how would he handle the big 12 play....but who knows...maybe shep can work miracles with him over the next year and he can make the transition.

    But think about this rotation....
Hamilton, Sumrall, Graham, Franklin, Jones, Montgomery not to mention if we get another JC which i wouldnt be surprised if we did....our receivers will be tough....

I hope they learn over the summer how to block from Sumrall.....

Hope we have a qb that looks off his defenders next year.

    AS ALWAYS BRYCEMAN - EXACTLY.....

Sleeper and i know some will scoff at this but, Josh Jordan....i think what the spread really needs is that type of quarterback, not the dual threat.....the main reason they're a dual threat is because they cannot find a receiver (Looks at primary only) and then tucks and runs....

I love bret, one of ISU's best statistical quarterbacks ever, but, i think Sage or even Seneca with the offense that Meyer has had we would be Big 12 North Champs and definately a multiple bowl qualifer....

Next years crop of QB's.....Arnaud, Bates, Tiller, Jordan......One of these guys has to step up and show he can make the reads and throws ACCURATELY.....and we're in serious business.....

The Big 12 north is not getting any easier....Kansas, Missouri both very young...Colorado is now moving in a positive direction, Nebraska will have an excitement with the coaching staff and well K-St, they can beat anyone any day....just depends on the coaches, maybe they're tired from running steps!!!!

Get'em Chiz, make believers out of us.....

I thought Vince Young did alright as a spread quarterback. Dual threat QB's can be great in spread offenses.

There should be a lot of jobs up for grabs next year including the OL... that despite the fact that five starters on the OL return. The guys we have now just aren't getting it done. We are ranked 117th in scoring offense! It doesn't get much worse than that. We need guys like Cedric Mack to challenge the current guys for playing time.

I'm with you but, our offensive wows in the redzone imo can be attributed to two things - poor play calling, and missed field goals....

Did you happen to see who was right behind us.....kind of funny......

When we have the likes of Texas's Offensive weapons when they won the national championship, i think Jake Christiansen could win 4-5 games!!!!
