    Kings Arena deal falls through...

could they return home to KC and the Sprint Center? With the Big 12 tournament now in jeopardy, a major league tenant will be more important. Of course, the owners will play the game of trying to get Sacramento to blink.

The odds of the Kings landing in Seattle or Anaheim are higher than KC.

I could see KC supporting a team better than Annaheim. We'll see if the owner wants to move operations from the nice warmth of California though.

The contract with KC goes through the next two years I believe, then it is opened back up. Its been in OKC and Dallas within the last 5-10 years, so I wouldn't say its in jeopardy at all. There no secret that KC does a much better job and has far better attendance.

TV money in Anaheim will be much better. Fox is paying big money to secure programming for their two networks. They lost the Lakers. This forced them to pay 2 billion for the rights to Angeles baseball. The Dodgers deal will be a monster too. SoCal TV revenue would be difficult to top by KC or Sac

No, it's never been more safe. The Big 12 needs the KC market in a big way. The tournament is not going anywhere.

Re: Kings Arena deal falls through...

I would think (and hope) that KC would be a better fit than Anaheim or Seattle. Anaheim already has the Clippers and Lakers. I would think a new team couldn't gain any ground in the LA area. Seattle had their chance and blew it , you can say the same thing about KC but that was how many years ago? With the Sprint Center being top notch, the P&L District being right there and the way the turnout is for the Big XII Tourney it would be hard not to think about KC. I believe there was a Heat/Thunder game in the Sprint Center not too long ago and tickets sold out in a hour or so.

Don't think so. Don't want to see it move out of KC. It's all about attendance and money and KC is the place to be.

Besides, what better way to rub it in someone's face?

Re: Kings Arena deal falls through...

I listen to Sacramento sports radio 1140 am khtk. The guy that started the campaign to save the kings last year believes the NBA will 'push' the Maloofs to sell. They are broke, so broke they have sold down to 2% ownership of their casino's in Vegas. There is a local guy that wants to buy them and keep the team local, then they will build a new arena. As it sits all the money the Maloofs were putting up for the new arena was loaned to them by the NBA, all 74 million bucks. They seem to believe out there that the NBA wants the Kings in Sacramento, with or without the Maloof family. They are guaranteed to at least the 2012-13 year in Sac. The crappy thing about the whole deal is Gavin Maloof was in tears 3 weeks ago about being so happy they got the arena deal done, now it's completely fallen apart. The owners are bunch of lying vegas conmen. The Arena deal didn't fall through because of the city, it is 100% on the Maloof family. They want to be in Anaheim.

That rug really tied the room together, did it not dude?
