    LaRussa returns to St. Louis

ESPN - La Russa to return to Cards with two-year deal - MLB

2 year deal. Not terribly surprised but after they let Jocketty go I thought the chances of Tony coming back were not as good. It also ends the rumors of him going to the Yankees so who is the favorite for that job now?

Re: LaRussa returns to St. Louis

I'm a long-time Cards fan and a current StL resident and I'm actually really glad Tony is coming back. I'm also glad they put in a 3rd year option in this contract. Tony's now 63 or something, so I can't see him managing too many more years, but at least we've got some stability for the next few anyway.

I hope he puts the pitcher in the 8 spot for the next three years.
