    2000 Big XII Champs

I just got done watching the 2000 Big XII championship on Mediacom and started wondering. What would would have been if we kept Larry Eustachy. Do you think we would be a better team than we are now?

I don't know. I would suspect that we would be a little ahead of where we are, simply because of two coaching changes. In two years or so, I think it evens out quite a bit. I wouldn't trade back, even though I really liked Larry.

I think so. WM was a pretty decent recruiter, he just couldn't coach. Whereas Larry was having issues recruiting while he was drinking. I thought they made a pretty good pair.

I liked Larry. I thought he was a good coach and taking us places. I wish the university would have punished him and then move on. But on the other hand I like where we are going now with Mac so it kind of evens out

No. The program was already on the down trend. Morgan's first year was successful in part to how patient he was with Stinson & Blalock. I'm not convinced LE would have been the same way. That being said, I'm glad we have the coach that we do now.

Good point. I guess it could of gone both ways with those two under LE. They possibly could have quit or transferred. The flip side of that coin is they may have developed better, especially by their junior years.

IMO LE would have had us back in the tourney as well.

I don't know we were on a slippery slope downward when Larry left, also I doubt he would have quit drinking if he stayed. I think even though we all love Larry it has worked out for all involved.

We needed a two headed coach...each head made up for the other head in deficiencies.

Let my Fred's Posse Ride: Georges, Naz, Hogue, Bryce, Nader, Monte, Matt, and McKay.
