Why? Because she does things differently then you would you want her to get screwed as a consumer-sawheet.

As far as depth goes though, the combination of White, Woodbury, Olaseni, Basabe, and Uthoff is much better than Niang, Ejim, Edozie, Gibson. Not because of the top 2, but because of the next 2 or 3. -DeanVogs

First off if you are spending 30K on flowers you probably don't need $400K. Secondly, while it sucks for them for the screwup how do you justify the claim? Get reimbursed plus maybe another 30K or something around there and move on. These lawsuits are getting out of hand, any way to completely screw someone over just to get some extra $ out of it is pathetic. I hope karma comes back and bites them in the ***** and they wind up screwing up something down the road themselves and get sued for a rediculous ammount of money.

I think its more the fact that she would sue for this. Stupid fricken people. Bridezilla's are garbage. The 30k in flowers is a waste of money in my opinion. Is she entitled to do it? Sure. However, the fact that she is going for 400k in extreme disappointment, distress and embarrassment, is ugly of them. I hope the florist wins the counter lawsuit. This could have been settled out of court and they could have gotten their money back and maybe discounts down the road. This kind of stuff sickens me.

No, I hope she loses because she is tying up the courts with crap like this.

In fact, I hope she loses, gets stuck with all the court costs, plus gets about $1,000,000 in punitive damages slammed on her for ruining the defendant's reputation and wasting the court's time.

I suspect she wants the florist to pay for the whole wedding.

    Amen,

You know, there was a lightbulb out at my reception, and my wife was a little freaked by the manequins in the X-mas tree. She lies awake 4 years later crying over it....

I think Younkers Tea Room owes us about $100,000.....

    Seriously,

"requested $465 centerpieces in "deep and dark colors of fuchsia, rust and green."

"the centerpieces appeared "predominantly pastel pink, almost white,"

$400K for dark pink, to lighter pink. I can see a lawsuit if they showed up with blue or green. But shades of pink? Causing "extreme disappointment, distress and embarrassment."

Give me a freaking break. If the color was that "off" and they can prove they ordered this and not that, then they get their money back. But an extra $370K - forget it. EOS.

Re: Florist Sued $400,000 Over Flowers

So what is a "good lawsuit"?

The florist breached a contract, and wouldn't provide relief-that is what the court system is for in my opinion. I come at this differently though as I was party to a lawsuit that was a result of an automobile accident. The other side(driver and insurance company) were unreasonalbe when we had reasonable demands-hence the legal system. When we filed we asked for outrageous $ but in the end settled for what was reasonable.

We don't know all of the facts and as such think this is perfect for the legal system to address. Trust me you want it there when you are the victim.

If someone is unwilling to give you your money back or help remedy the situation then maybe. However, the outcome should not have a huge markup on it. You got screwed out of 30k in flowers? Get your 30k back and maybe a little more. Not 400k. If the florist was willing to give you your money back and offer other apologies as well, you should have no lawsuit.

Seriously, you think $370K for "extreme disappointment, distress and embarrassment."
    is justified???

Yeah for wrong shade of flowers, you ask for a discount, and get over it. I mean seriously, does anyone care? And if you have people at your wedding who are going to be that petty to notice do you really care what their opinion is?

Which is why the judge will probably laugh this case out of the courtroom...but that won't make the news, will it?
