    ISD's Take on tickets

Editorial: ISU Athletics should consider students in deciding new policies - Iowa State Daily: Opinion

Maybe if more people showed up they wouldn't have to sell 150% of the tickets.

Fill the seats by any means necessary. Hoiberg and the team deserve to be playing in front of a packed house every single time they take the floor in Hilton and if this makes it happen then so be it.

Agree, KSU has done a great job with their student section the past few years. Why is the KU/KSU system so bad? It works.

    Re: ISD's Take on tickets

Well, at least it wasn't misleading or anything. Those individual tickets were really flying off the shelves for all 20 people who purchased them!

This sounds like some nerd getting all upset because they don't take the time to understand what's going on.

The Daily published an ill-advised, uninformed rant of a letter? Things sure have changed since I was in school.

It just makes sense, especially with the number of unused seats last year.

The whole 'only 20 wanted them' is the misleading part. Thanks to the bundle, some of those that wanted basketball tickets were forced to buy elsewhere (or not at all) and many got tickets for basketball that never really (apparently) wanted them.

    Re: ISD's Take on tickets

The athletic department’s interest is in money, not enhancing the student experience.
True. But higher attendance will improve the "student experience". Having Hilton completely packed improves the atmosphere in the Coliseum and makes games even more fun.

If they end up turning away 1,000 people per game next season, I'm sure they will reconsider the policy in the future. Right now overselling is the right policy.

Get there early... don't get turned away. Seems simple enough.

    Re: ISD's Take on tickets

How many games will they actually have to turn students away? Probably none in the non-conference. I'd say Kansas and maybe 1 other.

Overall, not as big a deal as the Daily/some students are making it out to be.

    Re: ISD's Take on tickets

The Daily is so stupid. They are not overselling to get more money. While that is a nice side effect of it for the AD, the fact is they sold every student ticket and not all the students showed up and it was pathetic for a team playing so well, especially in Hilton.

As a student, I will easily admit the blame falls squarely on us. People just feel the need to complain. If they oversell and we all show up, then hell we will cram everyone in the lower bowl and it will be ******* awesome. Screw fire code
