Anyone know how to get car wax off of black plastic trim?

    Suggestions?

I've heard that you can use rubbing alcohol but am worried about it taking off the wax I want to leave on my truck.

    Thanks for any advice.

As long as it's not painted trim, I'd try lightly using a magic eraser.

*disclaimer* I've never done this, but what I'd try if it's that pebbled finish plastic that I'm thinking of. If it's just painted trim, it would wipe off, so I'm presuming.

There are products specifically for this. Can't think of any names (Back to Black maybe) right now but try any auto parts place.

I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

yes... go to an auto parts store and "show them" what you have to deal with.
    They'll fix you up.

I had my car detailed and they did a horrid job and had wax all over my trim. I took the car back and had them fix what they messed up. They did, but they probably also peed in my gas tank.

Back to black is good and so is 303. I would only use magic eraser on it if you'd also feel comfortable using sand paper.

Magic eraser is nothing like sandpaper.

I disagree. I have a box of them and they work great on some things but I've seen what they can do on sensitive surfaces.
