    2012 Cubs

Haven't seen the normal amount of chatter from Cubs fans this year going into the season. Probably like me you're really uncertain what kind of team they are going to field this year?

I liked some of the offseason moves they made and have to think we can't play much worse than we did a year ago. Lot more youth on the team which you would think is going to translate into more speed and better defense.

No illusions of grandeur for this fan. Hope to finish mid pack in the NL Central. I pick Cincinati to win it unless Dusty messes it up.

I'll be very curious to see how the Cubs look.

    Lots of curiosity.
Basketball season and thesis season really dominated the last few weeks.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.
Make this one for the ages!

I'm just hoping for a winning season. If that's 1 game over .500 then so be it.

I think, now I know, It will be a tough year. I am with Theo on this one, 2015 is our year!

“They're very, very hard to guard,” Notre Dame head coach Mike Brey said. “They're really good. And with Niang in the middle kind of wheeling and all those guys spreading you out, they're kind of a nightmare matchup. And they're men. They're really men.”

    Re: 2012 Cubs

I think that the cubs have some promising players but I think that they will be held back by the turrible contracts that are still on the books.

I look for them to be back to competitive soon.

    Re: 2012 Cubs

I think I'll be happy if they finish above the Astros and Pirates. Very low expectations this year.

    Re: 2012 Cubs

Been following spring training and have seen many names where i question who the hell it is

With the pitching ace jeff samardzija grabbing the 3 spot in the rotation, I feel it is going to be another season with a very weak pitching staff... welp theres always next year

Can we get an over/under on how many starts before he is demoted to the 'pen?

I guess I'm not very hopeful. At this point, even limited success I will take as a pleasant surprise.

    Re: 2012 Cubs

The Cubs will probably be challenging the Pirates for 4th place for most the season, but in the end, I expect them to win that challenge! The Brewers/Cardinals/Reds are clearly the top 3 teams. I think the Brewers addition of Gonzalez and Ramirez will help soften the blow of losing Fielder a lot better than it will the Cardinals addition of Beltran while losing Pujols.

My pick for the final standings is...

    1. Brewers
    2. Cardinals
    3. Reds
    4. Cubs
    5. Pirates
    6. Astros

I really don't even care about the record as long as they play hard. Tired of enduring the crap we've seen.

Brutal pitching staff but I am hoping for the best.

i sure hope so... I noticed si and espn had less than 70 wins...

i think this is either all going to come together perfectly, or fall apart horribly. see the pirates last year...
