    Poor Officiating?!?!

Who else was disappointed? Everyone around me at the game knew what I thought of the referees today. I apologize if you happened to be one of those fans.

It looked like the referees were doing all they could to help OU, the Big XII's best shot at playing in the National Title Game, all game long.

    1. I could not believe how such BLATANT holding by Oklahoma or facemasks could be overlooked.

    2. Were the refs seriously going to leave :56 seconds on the clock in the second quarter when at least 10-15 seconds should have elapsed? I loved the fact that Chizik went out on the field to let the refs know how he felt about it and didn't stop until it was changed.

Before, :56 seconds remain in the second quarter.

After, :44 seconds left in the second quarter.

    3. I couldn't believe some of the spots the referees were giving OU, ~1 ft. or more than they deserved. It was even harder to believe the spots they gave OU after seeing the spots they gave ISU.

    4. When I watched the only ISU turnover, an interception in the endzone, I thought Wolfe tried to run with the ball, it appeared that he stepped out of the endzone. Isn't that a safety or at least OU ball on the 1 foot line? Did anybody else see the replay?

    5. The Register's caption reads, "Iowa State's Kurtis Taylor (47) hits Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford (14) as he throws in the fourth quarter Saturday in Ames. Taylor was whistled for a penalty on the play."

It didn't look like "roughing the passer" from where I was standing or when I watched the replay on the scoreboard, not bad enough to throw the flag anyway.

Enough of my b#$@#&%* about the refs. I had to get that off my chest. I was proud of the way our guys fought the entire game. OU knew they were lucky to leave JTS with a win.

The Kurtis Taylor call was the only one I was angry about. In general, I HATE head ref Jon Bible. He comes across as a big time a-hole and I find myself wanting to tackle him to the ground at times.

I think it had to do with Kurtis grazing the facemask, illegal hands to the face?

    Re: Poor Officiating?!?!

I was angry as well with the officiating. There was one mistake that sticks out in my mind, where an OU receiver caught the ball at the 1st down line, and ran backwards and went out of bounds 1-2 yards behind the 1st down line. This was on third down, and would have put OU off the field and kept the game at 7-7 if I remember right. It took the crowd completely out of the game.

The play that you are talking about was one of the two plays that I was really unhappy about the spot of the ball. He was running back under his own power, and he couldn't have gained control of the ball infront of the 1st down marker.

Yes, phantom spots, blown holding/pass inteference calls, and refusal to go to the booth on the clock situation untl Chizik kicked butt.

    Typical Big 12 officiating day.

    Re: Poor Officiating?!?!

As I said in another thread, Operation Boomer Sooner was in effect.

The conference knows that OU is their last chance to make a splash in the BCS and their last possible hope of getting to the NC game. No way they're going to let a cellar dweller like ISU ruin all that and cost the conference (the south teams) millions and millions of dollars.

Here's a photo of the INT from the ESPN gallery. If you watched the game on TV, it looked like OU crossed to goal line but I think it was actually the white border that surrounds the endzone paint that you can see in the picture. My brother-in-law asked me if he ran it out of the endzone right after it happened too. In this pic you can see that there is like a yard or so between the bottom of the text and the goal line in both endzones.

    Re: Poor Officiating?!?!

I also saw the INT in the endzone, and from all of the replays i have seen, it looks like he stepped out of the endzone.
I know there is a white boundary form the logo, but i'm almost positive it was the goal line he stepped across. Because, the next white line, was the 5 yard line...

    Re: Poor Officiating?!?!

We had better reffing over in Lincopln. The Stoops Borderline Cheat Factor rides again. Like Kelvin Sampson. Like Brett Bomar. The Okie staff knew he did not show up for work. Of course they did. The refs know they have to be overly fair to Okie. Look where the refs hometowns are...

Hope Stoops looses the South. He is a snake salesman. Mack Brown is light years the better person.

    Sorry. Done spewing.

Great effort by the team. Still mistakes on three plays led to the loss. Three plays away from greatness. We have never beat a #4/5 team ever. Came close.

CFH HMagic bball season next year.
Let my Fred's Four Horsemen ride: Georges, Hogue, Nader, and McKay.

Were you at the game? Did you watch it on TV? We didn't lose this game because of the refs, but they were fairly worthless.

    Re: Poor Officiating?!?!

I agree all around... The officiating wasn't that great... I saw A LOT of holds not called...

However...We could have one the game... probably should have... I wish it would have been 17-0 going into halftime.

Hey guys - I'm sitting here smiling because we are actually in a position to use the refs as an excuse for a loss to Oklahoma!
