    Video replays on the scoreboard

Here is a major gripe of mine from the game today. There were a few questionable calls during the game. From where I was sitting I could see the OU coaching staff watching the replay on the scoreboard. ISU was trying to quickly get the next snap off. The replay is shown and our guy even slows it down to show a better look. The Stoops gets on the refs and they end up reviewing it. Why do we continue to hurt ourselves? It would seem, being the home team, that you wouldn't want to show anything that might come back and bite you.

I dont think they have a choice, but I could be wrong. Either you show all replays or none at all. Besides, the coaching staffs upstairs review about every play anyway right?

Just watch, there are times that they don't show a replay. It's never a critical one like the catch on the sidelines or something along those lines.

i agree, dont show questionable calls that go our way on the big board. You could wait until another play is done, but never slow it down, that was bad

Re: Video replays on the scoreboard

it's up to the scoreboard operator's choice on what gets shown. I've gotten tours of many stadiums and talked to people that work in those rooms and have asked this specific question - they only/always show images that are good for the home team. So if there was a questionable call, they saw it was in favor of ISU first and put it on the board...

Yes they have a choice, poor management, especially slowing it down.

The kent State game, the replay guy could not get his act together. Noe je d to good when a call comes up.

Gene can fix this replay goof for next home game.

Fix it to our advantage. And the clock guy? Get a life.

Yeah, the clock operator needed to be fired at halftime.

They also have trouble keeping track of timeouts. Between this, the replay, and the clock thing at halftime, I would expect some chewings out at least.

That is just one thing I don't get. When we are at home don't you think we could make it easier on ourselves? You can't tell me that the clock operator couldn't have had a slow reaction after Shaggy's kick against Iowa and let that last second tick away? Instead he lets 50 some thousand people almost have a heart attack?

that is such a weird little thing that scoreboard operators DO get away with from every now and again with little notice...you think they coulda helped out the home team a little bit that game and save us from that 1 sec left kick return.

The only thing I wonder is...are the people in these positions Iowa State people or are they supposed to be "neutral" parties? If they are in fact the home team's people, I am surprised stuff like that doesn't happen more often.

Re: Video replays on the scoreboard

When a play is under review, why isn't the replay shown over and over again on the scoreboard?

Re: Video replays on the scoreboard

The big question is if it's close then why do we slow down the replay? Why give the opposing team more ammunition?
