    Cyclones, Hawkeyes Contact Oriakhi

    Scout.com: Heels Contact Oriakhi

Iowa and Iowa State on his list of schools that contacted him.

looks like he narrowed his list to 16 teams, (I'm taking it as he listed teams he's sort of interested in).

(I had to stay up tonight, don't judge, it's a good basketball source to start the day).

I'd be surprised to see him go anywhere that isn't a top 5 team to start next year.

" “I think comfort level is going to be important for me,” he explained. I don’t want to go to school that has a ton of bigs. I want to find a team that’s going to absolutely need you. I just want to find a school where I’ll have the opportunity to get touches.”
In addition to touches, the way a school uses its big men will factor into his decision.
“You want to go to a school where big men are the focus and the offense runs through a big man. You look at other big men in the past, but at the end of the day it’s about the man in the mirror. You still have to put in the work to make yourself the best player possible.”"

Wonder what he thought of how we used Royce? Does that count? Or is he looking for a team that pounds it down low? I'm not sure that we'll see any real interest here, but Freddie definitely runs the offense through the talent on the floor.

I can take him or leave him. I'm just not all about having a center being the focal point of an offense that ship has sailed in basketball.

You don't necessarily need your 5 man to score 20 points a game but, as he said, a big needs touches. It makes things easier when you can run things through your 5. That doesn't mean they have to lead the team in scoring. Without touches, the big becomes a screener and a rebounder.

    It's definitely a guard's game now - that's where it starts.

I know a lot of people are all over this guy, but come on, he evidently had a completely mind lapse against us, we made him look stupid early and he sat the rest of the game because he was not playing Defense to the game plan, I could see it in Calhoun's reaction.... Plus why are they referencing the kid like he will play next year as a transfer he has to sit a year???

If the post-season ban on UConn holds, NCAA allows seniors to transfer without sitting a year.

I would rather have Sanchez over Oriahki, and it's not even close. Don't know that we'll get either, but that's my preference.

Wait, IOWA contacted him too. I thought Fran was doing it the right way.

    Re: Cyclones, Hawkeyes Contact Oriakhi

He isn't coming to Iowa State. Why would you go to a powerhouse on the east coast, and transfer to a program that has been to the NCAA tournament once in the past 7 years in the midwest with 4 post players already. Not a chance in hell this happens. He is UNC or Kentucky bound.
