    Thumbs up 45,000 Strong!

This isn't going to be a post game analysis, or a redundant editorial about my opinions on the direction of the football program. There are sites after sites, and thread after threads for that stuff, and not something I care to dive into right now. I will say one thing and one thing only before I move on; we should have won, but did well to keep it so close. Those players left it all on the field today.

Alright, so what is this thread about? The fans, simple as that. After one of the worst games in recent memory for ISU last week, the fans stayed strong. Sure the weather turned out to be a mid September day, but the presence was felt none the less. I just wanted to give a shout outto everyone who showed up today because that was just splendid on the support that was given for the team.

Now, Lets just keep it up for the last two games to show these players what they mean to this school, and help the recruits realize what they may be missing if they decide to go somewhere else.

Well you have to consider the season tickets already sold but not in attendance. I was looking at people actually in attendance, not just sold. It was a strong showing for some awesome support today.

But thanks for giving me an update!

We could potentially average over 50,000 attendance this season. Considering the results on the field thus far, that's pretty awesome.

    Re: 45,000 Strong!

I would like to extend an additional pat on the back for the fans that made it to JTS today. Not only for the numbers there, but also for the surprisingly enthusiastic start that I don't remember from the Texas game (I remember it being deafly quiet at opening kickoff). Also, I'm glad the Cyclone Power chant is being implemented during the game throughout the stadium. My parents went to the game and told me that most of the people around them (essentially high donor seats; row 15 around the 30 in the lower deck) were into the chants as well.

Now, lets just beat the tar out of Mizzou, and show K-State that we don't need threats from our coach, or guitar skills from Cy to bring our towels to games.

You should have explained how amazing it would have been to have given birth in JTS; who knows, perhaps that would have been the "push" we needed to pull out the W today. ;)

No, that's the house I lived on in Helser dorm when I was at ISU.

    Re: 45,000 Strong!

It was good to see a crowd that stayed until the end. Although, this was the first time all year we had a reason to stay. Very good crowd... Very good game... Very poor kicking...

    Haber House for me!

It definately helps to have something to cheer about, but even then the crowd must have forgot about last week and chanted on another decent game. Kind of like the Iowa game, its a shame we are on the road again after another strong showing. Oh well, at least they're back in two weeks instead of four.

    Re: 45,000 Strong!

I thought the crowd was pretty good at being into it yesterday, it wasn't quite my the student section up in section D (couldn't get any cheers started up there) but people were on their feet cheering every 3rd down, and cheering on other ones too. I almost never heard the announcment to stand and cheer on 3rd down, because we were already doing that anyways 1/2 of the time!

I was also impressed with the relative resilience to what was happening - if we make a big stop people might quite down for a down or two... but would be up and cheering a few plays later (Some games... thats not always the case)

And silly Helser dwellers, Friley was so much better

Oh we will fight, fight, fight for Iowa State,
and may her colors ever fly!!!
