What is the best golf deal for walking 9 or 18 holes in the Des Moines area? Looking for sure quantity of holes on the cheap here.

Also where can you go to look up weekend best shot outings in the Des Moines area as well. They have to have them they just must be poor at advirtising.

Finding a great golf value is as simple as avoiding the clubhouse and the starter's shed.

Right now you can walk 18 at Waveland for $20 on the weekend and Grandview is $14. Rates will go up slightly as we get closer to summer to more like $30 and $18. Grandview is clearly a step below but with a new clubhouse it is improved over years past.

Jester is pretty good value at like $29 (might be cheaper this time of year). They have best shots once in a while, usually off season.

Otter Creek will let you walk for about $35. Links style (without the ocean of course). Fun course.
