Two things stand out to me on this report:

On Tiller: "He doesn’t quite have the speed and athleticism as some of the guys in front of him."
Say what you will about Tiller's quarterback ability, but one thing we've known all along is that he is fast and athletic. I take this quote to be a strong compliment to receiving corps and especially the young guys.

On the spring clinic this weekend: "One of the speakers at the event will be Joe Cannan, the head football coach at Manatee High School in Florida, a district that has recently become a recruiting hotbed for Iowa State."
I'm excited that we're getting Cannan up to Ames to work with our people. My question is do we always have high school coaches from Florida or Texas come to this? And if not, why not?

What time will the scrimmage be Saturday and can the public or gridiron members attend?

No. It is a closed scrimmage.

I've said a few times Tiller isn't that fast and athletic.. For a QB, yes he is very fast and athletic. For a WR though? No.

This is what I said about him when there was talk of moving him to WR before we knew that Barnett was a pretty good backup and even a decent starter.

I believe the same thing is true for both Jantz and Barnett. They are all athletic QBs, but for WRs they are average athletes.

Their ability to throw the ball while also being athletic is what sets them apart.

Re: Extra Points: More spring football nuggets

I thought the thing that would set Tiller apart from the other WRs was his understanding of the QB position. He might not be more athletic but if he can make good cuts and get open easier than the other WRs that could make him just as effective.
