    Leerfield Directors Cup question..

I realize that it would be hard to estimate throughout the year but would listing a what a school spends on their athletics make it more pertinent for their final listing?

    Re: Leerfield Directors Cup question..

Nobody gives a **** about the directors cup for two reasons.

    1) Stanford wins it every year. There's really no point in having a competition.

    2) A very large majority of the sports that are included in the Directors Cup are sports that most fans haven't actually watched or know anything about.

I like the idea of the Directors Cup but if they want it to become something more they'll have to change the way they do it. Include less sports (and make it an even amount of sports for each school)

The Directors' Cup is fine the way it is, and plenty of people follow it. If you want a competition for "popular" sports, you are free to start such a competition.

Doesn't that defeat the purpose of the Directors Cup?

Make a new one called the Football, Basketball, Baseball & Hockey Cup. The Directors cup is what it is and serves a purpose.

so should they include the money spent on athletics then? Getting the most bang for your buck has to be a factor right?

this is the winter (as it were) version, if you view it in the late fall, ( i believe) it lists Football, M&W Basketball. Volleyball etc. thanks for replying to the thread though.
