Cyclone Alley shirt won't be required next year

Via some people I know on SLAC. Shirt isn't included anymore and isn't required.

Also a football jersey is included in the 250 student package

I saw this on Twitter as well. You also can't buy MBB tickets separately, you can only get them via the All Sports package

This is not good. That's a huge reason of why we don't fill up the student section. People buy the all sports package for football and don't go to basketball!

I know that Athletics is considering (or at one point was considering) overselling MBB student tickets. Perhaps that is their solution and we just don't know it yet

I am guessing that the rationale is they expect MBB tickets to sell out, and they might as well require everyone to get FB tickets as well that wants MBB tickets, to maximize their own revenue. Just my guess

    Seats sold = approaching infinity
Seats occupied = infinitesimally small percentage of seats sold

I could see them opening up more MBB sales later, but chances are they will over sell more basketball tickets this year rather than last year.

That will help, if they don't go paper.

It would probably make sense to do away with designating the upper deck of the student section as student section, selling GA, and allowing student tickets to sit in that area.

I always get the package (football and basketball) anyway, but imo it is kind of bs to not give those who just want basketball tickets that option. I can see why they do it from a sales stand point, but I don't agree with.

    Why no basketball only option?

That seems like a dumb move to me. They need to make the bball tix a separate entity so they can get a higher percentage of buyers to be attenders.

I'm thinking there will be a lot of people getting the all sports package for the football jersey thinking they will go to basketball games when in reality they'll go to three

    Bingo.

This is, and has been the problem.
