There have been a lot of rumblings about this the last few days, appears there may be truth to the rumor. Sounds like he is gone

Re: South Carolina to hire Frank Martin

Crap. While K-State turning for the worst would certainly help us, I've grown to appreciate Martin as a coach and would hate to see him leave the conference. The AD there really screwed the pooch. He had a good thing going with Martin at the helm.

I think this is good for Iowa State, but bad for the Big XII.

Re: South Carolina to hire Frank Martin

That's too bad. Martin was as good of a guy as they can come. Love him or hate him for his attitude, but his players love playing for him and he actually does care about his players. The Big XII lost a good one today. I was looking forward to watching Frank and Huggy Bear go at it twice a year.

screw kstate. I hope they never win again. If you feel bad about this go to "goemaw.com" and see the stuff they say. Terrible people.

The big 12 will be fine and I think KSU will be fine. If they get a coach like McDoormat than probably not but as long as they are competitive within 2 years of the coach change, they will recover.

Instability in other Big 12 programs can only help in the ascent of Iowa State basketball.

Why are people completely unable to understand that goemaw is supposed to be that way. They post that **** to get people like you up in arms.

While on live TV, Ford used a vulgar term to describe a private part of the female anatomy, adding that he was “happily married” and “got more than enough to eat at home.”

Agreed. I like reading some of their stuff. Reminds me of the old Jime Rome message boards.

    Could not agree more.

KU is a clear #1 program right now. UT will always have good talent, but can certainly be challenged as the #2.

Mizzou is gone. K-State likely doesn't find anyone as good as Martin (turmoil would be nice....think the Gmac era coming to the little apple).

WVU will be tough, but they have a LONG way to travel for most of their games.

Scott Drew will continue to get future NBA players to play for him, but they'll also continue to under perform their potential.

OSU and OU will get better, but with Freddie, I see no reason why we can't challenge for the #2 program in the B12!!!!

Re: South Carolina to hire Frank Martin

I'll miss hearing his interviews on a regular basis. Since KSU likes coaches that yell during games maybe they can step it up a notch and hire Fran away from Iowa.

anyone think that South Carolina pulls the offer and waits to see what the NCAA will do about his comments this weekend.

Re: South Carolina to hire Frank Martin

If he really is gone, I'm sad to see him go. I hate KSU, but Frank grew to be one of my favorite coaches

But K-State taking a step back under a different coach should help us. And now I can go back to hating them without having the urge to cheer for their basketball team.

If they get Marshall to replace him, I have a feeling they are in for their own version of the McDermott era.
