    Marshalltown housing

Unique situation here. I'm going to be on clinical for physical therapy school this summer at the Iowa Veteran's Home. They have an extremely reasonably-priced place where I can stay during the week, but it's only available Monday-Thursday nights, and I have to be out by 10:00 AM on Fridays. What makes it more difficult is that I'm from eastern Iowa, meaning I'd have to drive all the way back to Marshalltown very early on Monday mornings if I were to spend the weekends at home.

Any suggestions on places to look? Thanks in advance.

Your best bet would most likely be to spend the weekends at home and do your best to tolerate the drive.

    Re: Marshalltown housing

I've been in the Sundance and Edgebrook apartments and they are pretty good. I haven't been in a whole lot of others. They are a bit of a drive from the Vet's home but there isn't a whole lot in the way of apartments that are close that I know of. Those are both by the high school.

    Re: Marshalltown housing

Man Dubuque to Marshalltown would suck on a weekly basis... I think Dubuque to Ames is pretty lame on a monthly basis :p

Although it's only for the summer, and I know somebody who did Des Moines to Dubuque for a couple months on a weekly basis while transitioning between jobs, so it's definitely doable.

Yes but if they have a lot of openings it'd be worth a shot. College students might sublease.

Some apartments may do short term leasing, you will usually get screwed in the form of a non-refundable deposit, or extra addition to monthly rent.

You can also sublease, although I'm not sure how hot the market is for summer subleasing in Marshalltown. During my internship in Minneapolis I was able to get a summer sublet fairly easily.

    4) dont forget your ID if your going to the movie theatre. my 25 year old buddy with a beard got turned away from seeing 21 jump street the other day. he lit a cigarette in the lobby and told them to **** off.

    5) stay away from north marshalltown

Is the Flamingo still available? That would be a memorable experience.
