    Transfer history

    WBB transfers...history
Someone asked in me of the threads what the track record for transfers in the WBB program looked like...here we go...

    2003-04
Stuart transfers to ISU from community college. Little impact.

    2004-05
Stuart transferred to Emporia State and was a two sport star.

    2005-06
    No transfers

    2006-07
Pierson..transferred to DePaul. Limited playing time there
Bjerke transferred to Concordia. 2nd team all conference

    2007-08
Denae Stuckey transfers to Iowa State. Key defensive specialist
    No transfers from the team

    2008-09
Arlen transfers to Wayne State. Didn't like flying. Is a star for WS
Rockall returned home. Was a project to start and more or less a favor to a former player.
Yackley transfer to South Dakota. Ave 6 points a game this year.

    2009-10
Williams transferred to TCU to get closer to home. Was a budding starter (IMO) at ISU? Started 22 games for TCU this year while ave 5 points per game.
Chas Cole transferred to ISU and like Stuckey was a defensive specialist

    2010-2011
Mansfield transfers to ISU. Is a starter much of her career and is a 3 point specialist although streaky.

    2011-12
Mays transfers to? Hardly played at ISU. Known as a project when recruited.
Harris transfers to? Known as a 3 point specialist in high school. Never showed consistency at ISU.

There are numerous players that I've not mentioned that transferred to Iowa state. Here's a few that had a dramatic impact.
    Stacy Frese: 1st Team 1998, 1999, 2000
    Desiree Francis: HM 1999, 3rd Team 2000
    Anne O'Neil: HM 2004, 1st Team 2005
    Katie Robinette: 2nd Team 2005

    Re: Transfer history

Bjerke actually transferred in 07-08. IIRC, she decided she was going to transfer before the season started but after the start of the school year. Fennelly redshirted her so she didn't burn a year of eligibility, and then she transferred at semester.

    Others in that timeframe:
Jane Horkey and Megan Ebel in 03-04.
Seirra Dawson in 05-06. Lisa Bildeaux also left the team that year but stayed at ISU.
    Darcie Dick in 10-11.
    Don't forget Schroll this year.

Other transfers in during that timeframe:

    Toccara Ross in 06-07
    Jocelyn Anderson in 07-08
    Darcie Dick in 10-11

    All three were jucos.

    Re: Transfer history

Horkey transferred to Drake, never amounted to much there.

Dawson was young for her age when she came here, and IIRC transferred closer to home in Mississippi.

Darcie Dick - Southwestern Oklahoma State - she and her family were not happy with her playing time and felt she should have been playing before Loz.

    Re: Transfer history

Shriver had a decent career at Tulsa.

Nina Smith transferred in and out. Melanie Bremer transferred in and out. Megan McCracken followed Coach Pingeton to Illinois State. Mindy Sywassink (a walk-on) transferred away. That covers all transfers since the 99-00 season.

    Re: Transfer history

IMHO Best potential player to transfer (other than maybe Stacy Frese) was Nina Smith (name?) I think she transferred in from Wisconsin. Large post, nationally ranked out of highschool. She sat out a year and never played. Her presence on campus may have impacted post recruiting for a couple of years.

    Re: Transfer history

Smith was the #1 recruit in the nation but had no interest in high-level basketball. She had a good freshman year at Wisconsin, then transferred to ISU. She sat out a year, then transferred to Div II Holy Family, where she was a dominant player.

Bauman ended up at UCSB - decent career, but nothing stellar.

The Smith family was tied in somehow with big girl who played for Waterloo for one year that ended up going to UConn, do not remember her name but at that time I felt she was going to be the difference maker that ISU needed to get to a final 4.

Gillian Goring. She chose UConn but didn't qualify. She ended up a juco and then went to NC State, where she was productive when healthy but wasn't healthy much.

The Arlen, Yackley, Rockall, Williams class was very damaging to the program. I am looking forward to seeing how the new players fit in and what Bill will do with the open scholarships.

As Iunderstand it, Goring was recruited to NCState by the same assistant coach that recruited many of the players that brought Blair his championship last year.

This year she averaged 17.2 ppg and was conference POY. Suspect defense cost her PT at ISU.
