Remember, most of us here don't follow women's sports so an image would help. I just so happen to be one of these people and I now see your disappointment.

I was really hoping for this as well, but I won't be coming until Monday night. Not sure they would have beaten Tennessee anyway.

My dad lives near Wilmington, Delaware, her hometown. We went to one of her high school state championship games a few years ago. I think she scored over 50 points that night. It was impressive.

Delware was a one trick pony, and that works in the CAA and against UALR, but give Bonnie credit, she junked up the defenses and really made her work to score.

Angel Goodrich was incredible for KU, and as the announcers said the best player on the floor.

More important than that, she is a wonderful sister (read the story that is attached with whirlybird's link).

Re: looks like no Della Donne in Des Moines

I think I might take her over Griner, as Della Donne can do many things. She is agile and can shoot the three as well as take it to the basket. She rebounds and handles the ball well for someone her size. She did not have a supporting cast capable of playing against Big 12 players, and KU's D wore her down a bit. Goodrich played an excellent game, and KU has improved over the last two months or so.

I tried to watch some of that game after they were hyping it on SC last night but it was just too painful. Airball after airball from all of Della Donne's teammates. If she had any help they actually would've given BU a run for their money.

She just had a deal on TV a few weeks ago, big recruit who went to UConn and quit. Got a new lease on life and bball at Delaware.

There was a major story on her in the Sunday NY Times recently; I think it was 11th, but it may have been the 18th. It went into detail about how she decommitted to UConn and was burned out on b-ball; it also dealt with her close tie to her older, handicapped sister. Later the story spoke of her missing basketball and her eventual place on the Delaware team. Sorry, but I have no link.

sad thing about that is she was too nice a person when Geno Dick gave her an ultamatum that she can only get out of her LOI if she played VB only (also a prep AA) or go home to her little school!

Geno ****** also kept the dogs on full tilt vs K State monday and then was caught saying afterwards "big 12 the best conference huh? ********"

I saw that 60minutes show. I see 60mins maybe once every couple years, just happened to catch this one story. Talked about her deaf and blind sister. She is very close to her and wants to help take care of her. Made Geno look like a huge horse's *** when they interviewed him. Would be great to show to recruits who think he is such a great coach. I hate negative recruiting, but after that story, I don't care for UCONN womens basketball one bit.

Nothing Geno has ever said or done has ever made me believe he is nothing but a straight up a$$hole.

Yes, the Times story did mention that she played VB at Delaware before she went out for BB there. It also mentioned a bigger, older brother with whom she played driveway BB growing up; evidently he did not go easy on her, and that proved to help her cope with rough play today. There was no mention of Coach Gino that I can recall.
