Re: Looking for a New GPS

Like my Garmin. I have the 1300LTM, which means I get to update my maps 4 times a year as long as I own this model at no extra charge (LTM=Lifetime Maps). I hate the predestined routes it tries to send me through the Detroit metro area, especially when those routes are the worst possible routes, but those are inherent problems with every GPS system. Garmin also has a lot of cool themes you can download for your GPS, such as Star Wars and Nickelodeon. My daughter loves the Dora the Explorer theme we have on ours.

Garmin. I've got the Nuvi 1490T and I love it. Subscribed to Lifetime updates so it gets updated four times a year.

See, I have both, and quite honestly, unless it's local travel where I don't want to break out the Garmin, I prefer my Garmin to my Android.

Re: Looking for a New GPS

Love my Garmin, I have a nuvi 205w with a lifetime update (which is quite worth it in my opinion). I have used it for long trips, along with just navigating around town. I also power it up for the speed (My car gets off by 5-7mph when you get above 50ish) when on the highway.

My sister has a Tom Tom and likes that but I have no experience with it to compare.

Re: Looking for a New GPS

I wouldn't even think about one without lifetime maps included.
