Tyrone McKenzie - How come he gets to play?

Doesn't Tyrone McKenzie have to sit out a year? How does he transfer and play this year?

NCAA hardship that he was granted. I believe it was due to family reasons.

got a grievance ruling - or whatever you wanna call it. Since he transfered because his mother is not well, he got a waiver. ie, the transfer wasn't for personal gain

Seriously though, does he hold the record for most D-1A, errr, FBS teams played for?

Did he play for someone before Mich St?

No, but this is his third D-1 School.

I would assume that multiple people have attended multiple schools, but very rarely has someone actually seen quality minutes at three schools.

Re: Tyrone McKenzie - How come he gets to play?

I don't want to sound like a hardass, but I really don't think he should have been allowed to play this season. I could have seen it if it had been his first transfer, but it wasn't.

I'm sympathetic to his situation, but rules are rules, and its tough for me to believe that a hardship waiver would be granted for one of our players, especially after seeing the 4 game suspension handed down to Jiri for getting a meal and a pair of pants.

Re: Tyrone McKenzie - How come he gets to play?

McKenzie just made a big block on an attempted field goal ... then made an illegal forward "fumble" that led to a TD that's under review.

    Passionate.

That blocked fieldgoal is the first time I've ever seen a flag thrown by the replay team. Interesting.

That's going to be talked about a bit this upcoming week. I thought it was part of the replay rules that they couldn't assess penalties, but only confirm or reverse judgments of ball placement, fumbles/non-fumbles, catches/non-catches. I mean, does this mean they can use replay to throw a flag on intentional grounding plays? False starts? Pass interference?

It was my understanding that penalty/no-penalty situations could not be reviewed, they are judgment calls to be made at game speed. I'm OK with them bringing the ball back in that situation, but I'm not OK with them assessing the 5 yard penalty.

That is what they reversed, the fact that it wasn't a fumble.
